Buying Guide

Limited Editions

All prints are sold as limited editions of 10 per size. Once the run is sold out, no additional prints will be made in that size and color profile. Prints are sold in either rectangular (full frame 2:3) or square (1:1) presentations, as shown in galleries, and are not cropped to other ratios. Images are printed as either color or black & white as shown in galleries.

Each print is signed in pencil on the front in the white border. Prints are numbered, and dated on back. Every purchase includes a signed certificate of provenance and a signed bill of sale.

Archival Paper

I print on luxurious, 100% cotton museum quality archival matte paper – Hahnemühle 100% α-cellulose Torchon paper.

The paper is 285 gsm, 92% whiteness, acid-free, lignin-free, and pH balanced. Hahnemühle is the industry leading standard for fine art printing. Torchon cotton paper is a particularly good choice for exceptional dynamic range, featuring rich, detailed blacks and shadows, soft graduated color transitions, and bright highlights and whites. It is highly tactile and velvety smooth, with a fully non-reflective calcium carbonite buffered finish.

Giclée Printing

All works are produced using the giclée method. French for "sprayed ink," giclée provides exceptional archival preservation and vibrant dynamic range, rivaling silver-halide and gelatin processes typically found in museums and fine galleries worldwide.

Size Selection

As a general rule, the finished size of your artwork (including mat and frame) should span a little more than half the width of the wall on which it sits. I strongly recommend placing only one or as few pieces as needed on any wall as larger pieces create visual impact.

Preservation & Display

Prints are sold unmounted, unmatted, and unframed.

Clients should expect to mat, frame, and glaze using UV protective glass or acrylic for proper preservation. Print quality is guaranteed with documented archival preservation (acid-free / lignin-free mats, proper UV protective glazing, dust cover framing) within 30 days of receipt of print.

Prints include ½" white border for clean handling and easy framing. The border does not alter the total overall size of the finished print. Please be sure to take this into account when purchasing mats.

Please note that fine art prints are more sensitive than photographic paper to fingerprints and CANNOT get wet as the ink will blur and run.

Prints should be displayed away from direct sunlight.

Production

From the time you place your order to the time I place the packaged print in the mail, a few things happen. Printing through my commercial fine art printer takes approximately 1 week (a bit longer at the holidays). I receive the print, inspect it, sign it, complete the bill or sale and certificate of authenticity, package it, and hand post it for shipment to you. This whole process takes approximately 7-10 business days. Once I have tracking information for your shipment, I will be in touch to let you know its on its way.

If you need prints produced and shipped faster, please contact me before making your order so I can do my best to help.
